Forever Hugs began when a client approached us with an idea for a DIY kit that captured affection through handprints and paint. Early research showed a growing TikTok trend around “forever hugs,” where people created wearable memories for friends, partners and family. We helped name the brand, secure the domain and shape the idea into something enduring rather than fleeting. Community conversations revealed a deeper insight. Families, friends and grandparents wanted something they could make together rather than purchase ready-made. They wanted a shared activity that created stories, laughter and sentiment. The challenge was to build a brand presence that felt warm and familiar, while guiding users from curiosity to creation with care.

We developed a playful visual identity using soft pastels, rounded typography and generous whitespace to reflect calmness and joy. Custom illustrations captured the imperfect charm of handmade creativity. A mobile-first website simplified browsing and checkout, while a content system highlighted customer stories and user-generated photos. Social campaigns encouraged participation across Instagram and TikTok, using simple prompts, packaging reveals and unboxing moments to show the joy behind each kit. Pop-up activations expanded the experience beyond digital. At markets and local events, people of all ages created designs together, from children painting with grandparents to friends making matching shirts. Packaging, signage and campaign messaging were designed to feel approachable, sincere and rooted in community energy. Two early social videos reached 50K+ views, helping build awareness through platform behaviour rather than traditional advertising.

As the brand evolved, the kits found their way into aged-care settings, creating moments of physical connection and intergenerational bonding. The shirts became keepsakes, wearable reminders of time spent together.
